Our Club

The Southtown Lions Club was chartered in June of 2011 with 24 members. As a new club, we are working to identify needs in our community that we can develop the means to address. One of our first projects is to support SA Unity in its annual drive to put school supplies in the hands of students who can’t afford them. Aside from donating supplies, the club is providing food and beverages for those who donate school supplies at the dropoff event.

We are part of the International Association of Lions Clubs, or Lions Clubs International (LCI), which has a long and proud history of service to local and global communities. Read more about LCI here and here.

We are also part of Multiple District 2, which serves all of Texas, and District 2-A2, which serves 21 counties in southwestern Texas, including greater San Antonio. We work to support the projects at the state and district level, including the Texas Lions Camp, the Lions Low Vision Center of Texas, the Texas Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center, and the Texas Lions Foundation.

Locally, we are working on a variety of new project ideas, and we’re open to more! Contact our club president at president@southtownlions.org with questions or ideas.

Our club meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m., Madhatters Tea House and Café, 320 Beauregard Street, San Antonio. Meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome.
